Rachael Myrow Announced As Lead Reporter For KQED’s New Silicon Valley News Desk

KQED Public Radio’s statewide news service The California Report will be looking for a new morning host.

KQED Public Radio has announced that award–winning journalist Rachael Myrow, who has served as the morning host of The California Report since 2007, will move over to a newly-created position as the lead reporter for KQED’s new multimedia Silicon Valley News Desk. The statewide news service will be looking for a new morning host for its daily edition.

Myrow has previously served as a reporter and host at Marketplace Radio and KPCC in Los Angeles, before joining KQED Public Radio in 2007. She holds undergraduate and graduate degrees from University of California, Berkeley, where she got her start in radio at KALX.

The California Report is KQED Public Radio’s statewide radio news and public affairs program. The daily edition airs Monday through Friday mornings on KQED 88.5 FM. The program also produces a 30-minute weekly magazine, which airs on KQED 88.5 FM Friday afternoons. The program is carried by more than 30 public radio stations in California and many local station reporters are regular contributors to the program.
