Want to meet the Cat in the Hat? KQED will be bringing your favorite Dr. Seuss character to the California Academy of Sciences on Tuesday, July 23, at 10am–1pm, and on Sunday, July 28, at 11am–5pm as part of the popular series’ summer special “Let’s Get Wet Week,” which airs on KQED Public Television July 22–26. Participate in water-themed activities, learn about the fastest fish and swiftest sailboats at the California Academy of Sciences’ new Built for Speed exhibit, win prizes, gather for a reading from The Cat in the Hat’s Learning Library (Sunday only) and take your photo with the Cat! Summer is here, but the Cat in the Hat, Nick and Sally are beating the heat as they explore all things wet this week! In an all-new episode of The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About That! on Monday, July 22, Sally and Nick learn how seabirds can dive deep into the water to catch their food. The aquatic adventures continue all week long, as the Cat and friends play with a river hippo, swim with manatees and explore coral reefs. It's all part of the PBS KIDS summer learning initiative. “Let’s Get Wet Week” airs July 22–26 at 8:30am on KQED 9 and at 3pm on KQED Plus.
