Series of family-friendly events planned in conjunction with first-ever Cat in the Hat Christmas special, PBS KIDS’ The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About Christmas!, airing on KQED beginning November 21 through Christmas Day.
KQED, the public media organization that serves Northern California, calls all Bay Area kids to meet the Cat in the Hat of the hit PBS KIDS program The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About That! at family-friendly events planned in San Jose, Oakland, San Mateo and San Francisco. The beloved Dr. Seuss character will make appearances at events in conjunction with the program’s first-ever Christmas special The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About Christmas!, which premieres Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at 9am on KQED 9. Please visit PBSKIDS.org/catinthehat to find The Cat in the Hat activities and games for kids, tips and activities for parents and lesson plans for educators.
“KQED is proud of its role as the provider of intelligent, entertaining and diverse kids programming throughout the year,” said KQED Vice President, Television, Michael Isip. “We are thrilled that the Cat in the Hat is now a part of the Bay Area holiday celebrations, both with the brand new Christmas special and with events around the Bay Area.” KQED is the national presenting station for The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About That!
The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About That! has ranked among the top ten programs for children ages 2 to 5 since it premiered on PBS KIDS in September 2010.* The series is a key part of KQED’s and PBS KIDS’ commitment to help kids build critical STEM — science, technology, engineering and math — skills through engaging content across platforms.
