That dull roar you heard a little while ago was the sound of Serial fans collectively losing their minds over breaking news out of Maryland. A judge has ordered for Adnan Syed's case to be officially re-opened, mainly to admit new evidence like the testimony of potential alibi Asia McClain and new cell tower data.

It's been a long road to this point. In January, a court said they would consider Adnan's appeal. In February, he won his motion to appeal. In May, Adnan was granted a chance at a shorter sentence. And in August, Adnan's lawyer submitted new evidence that could overturn his conviction. There's surely more to come out of all of this so watch this space. Until then, check out all of our Serial coverage (there's a lot).
