My favorite celebrity couple (after Winona Ryder and Johnny Depp of course) is Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale. They met on tour in 1995 and became the prom king and queen of a certain branch of popular music. Then, they broke up and Gwen wrote blistering breakup songs like this one:

"I kinda always knew I'd end up your ex-girlfriend. I hope I hold a special place with the rest of them," Gwen spat.

But they got back together! And got married in 2002! And had three kids! And all the other sad songs from No Doubt's Return of Saturn about Gavin became nothing more than neat little relics of a moment in time when the star-crossed Gwen and Gavin were briefly, wrongly apart.

Unfortunately, according to TMZ, destiny is taking back this particular happily ever after, as Gwen and Gavin have filed for divorce. This is the music world's version of Amy Poehler and Will Arnett.

What to do with this information? Wallow for an unhealthy amount of time, duh.

You could look up old photos of them hugging and kissing and stuff (although I just did this and can't recommend it).

You could listen to Gwen sing about how she loves Gavin so much that she wants to wash in his bathwater:

You could watch Gwen run around distraught in a wedding dress, as she sings about how much she wishes she could marry Gavin:

Or, even though it's not about him, you could listen to one of the best breakup songs ever:

R.I.P. Gwen and Gavin. Your candle burned out long before your legend ever did.
