SF, Oakland and Albany to Vote on Soda Tax

Voters in San Francisco, Oakland and Albany will decide in November whether or not to impose a one cent per ounce tax on distributors of soda and other sugary beverages. This is the second such tax that San Franciscans will vote on — the city rejected a two cent soda tax in 2014. Supporters of the taxes say they are an essential tool in the fight against rising diabetes and obesity rates.
