California's future depends on our children growing up with a passion for math and science. Across the state, summer programs stoke that passion in the hopes it'll help kids stay engaged through the school year and beyond. One lucky group of teenagers from South L.A. got to work in some of the most remote nature preserves in the country -- on Santa Cruz Island, one of the Channel Islands.
