On Capitol Hill, a former state senator has called for closer inspection of the earthquake fault lines around Diablo Canyon, California's only active nuclear power plant. Sam Blakeslee, who represented the Central Coast area where the plant is located, told a Senate committee that the plant's operator PG&E is downplaying the danger.
