The proposed sale of six safety-net hospitals is turning into a union showdown. The non-profit Daughters of Charity has agreed to sell its financially distressed facilities in Northern and Southern California to for-profit Prime Healthcare. All this week, the state's attorney general's office hears testimony before it approves or denies the sale. We find out why two unions have put themselves in the heart of the battle.
