Gov. Brown Orders Ambitious New Cuts in Greenhouse Gases

California has been a national leader in its efforts to deal with climate change. On Wednesday, it accelerated those efforts as Gov. Jerry Brown issued an executive order with new targets to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Brown called for a 40 percent reduction from 1990 emission levels, a goal to be achieved over next 15 years.
