The Youth Orchestra Los Angeles is a music education program that provides instruments and training for kids from underserved communities in L.A. It's the brainchild of Gustavo Dudamel, who made his debut conducting the L.A. Philharmonic when he was just 24 years old. Now the youth orchestra is celebrating its 10th anniversary with a first-ever tour across California next week, with concerts in Southern California, the Central Valley and the Bay Area. The orchestra is just one of the ways the L.A. Phil has expanded its reach into the community under Dudamel's leadership.
