Mendocino Community Struggles to Replace Lone Pediatrician

Many rural areas around the state struggle to recruit new doctors, who gravitate toward higher-paying city jobs. For the first time in decades, the Mendocino Coast in Northern California has no permanent pediatrician. That was Dr. Bill Mahon's role, but he recently retired. He still works a few days a month at the Mendocino Coast District Hospital. We spoke with him for our series, "Vital Signs."
