In Oakland and San Francisco, police officials say they'll add patrols around movie theaters playing 'The Dark Knight Rises" today, in the wake of a deadly shooting in a Colorado movie theater.
SFPD spokesman Albie Esparza said officers will enter theater lobbies and talk to employees randomly throughout the day.
"Even though the Colorado shooting appears to be an isolated incident, we will take the extra measures to ensure we don't have a copycat incident over here," Esparza said.
In Oakland, Andrew Stelzer reports five people were shot outside a Regal Cinemas movie theater in Jack London Square earlier this month. The cinema is playing the third movie in the Batman trilogy tonight.
"We are very concerned," Jordan said. "We do have extra patrols, we have patrols when the movie starts, during the time when the movie lets out. Not only there but at the Grand Lake theater here in Oakland."
