Last night the Cal baseball team eliminated Dallas Baptist from the Super Regionals to move on to the College World Series in Omaha, June 18 - 29. This will be the first World Series appearance for the team, which until recently was slated for elimination itself -- not just from the tournament, but from existence -- since 1992.

Someone at the game captured the final out and pile-on celebration at the mound in this video. Note to fan for future videography: Try and wait for the play to be completed before shakily rejoicing. On the other hand, the video sort of captures the irrepressible thrill of victory that overwhelms all other considerations when it occurs.

Stanford, by the way, was eliminated from the tournament by North Carolina on Saturday.
