This is our first real episode of The Leap, a brand spanking new podcast produced at KQED. If this is the first time you’ve heard of us, take a listen to Episode 0, which explains what we’re all about and previews some upcoming stories.
Today’s story is about a very bad smell: the smell of butt crack with a hint of dead animals, to quote its inventors. Is it actually the world’s worst smell? Hard to say for certain, but it’s gotta be up there.
Our first episode tells the story of how two Midwestern truck engineers staked their fortunes on this terrible smell and the unlikely leap the smell itself took, to a place we’re positive you will not see coming.
