Don't go over your city or county's Christmas tree composting/recycling cliff. Now that the holidays are wrapping up, it's time to start a new year fresh. Find out when, where and how to get rid of that old tree with our comprehensive annual guide.

No county or city accepts decorated trees for curbside pickup, although some Boy Scout troops do for a charge. Most counties compost their trees. And many don't accept flocked trees. (What is a flocked tree? A tree sprayed with artificial snow. It's just what it's called. Let it go.) We've included city information as specific as possible.
