It's always fun to truck up to Capitol Hill and interview our elected representatives -- but what can top seeing them at a California fashion show in the Ritz Hotel in Georgetown!? No, they're not going to walk the runway (get real).

But on Saturday afternoon a bipartisan group of political gliterati will attend the fourth Presidential Inaugural Luncheon & Fashion Show presented by the California State Society in Washington D.C. and the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising/FIDM in Los Angeles.

The show is billed as "a great opportunity for Californians in Washington, and those coming from California, to jointly celebrate the Presidential inauguration."

Well, count me in. I mean, check out this array of fashion A-Listers confirmed as attending: Mayors Chuck Reed (San Jose), Jean Quan (Oakland), Ed Lee (San Francisco) and Antonio Villaraigosa (Los Angeles).

What, no Gavin Newsom?

Anyway, a star-studded bipartisan list of congressmembers is also promised, including Republicans Buck McKeon, Dana Rohrabacher, and Ed Royce, and Democrats Jackie Speier and Lois Capps.

A number of newbie incumbent-slayers are also listed as confirmed: Eric Swalwell (who knocked off Pete Stark), Dr. Ami Bera (vanquished Dan Lungren) and Scott Peters (so long Brian Bilbray).

I am a little skeptical of that confirmed list, though, since it includes LA Congresswoman Janice Hahn, who told me she couldn't make it because she had to be in Los Angeles for the Martin Luther King, Jr. parade.

Organizers call the event "a visual opportunity to highlight the important economic contributions being made to California and the nation by the fashion and entertainment industries."

But more important, cocktail service begins at 11 a.m.
