With help from our News Associates -- local news sites from around the Bay Area -- we collected some of the most striking news photos from the past week.

Clinic office manager Guillermina Flores holds a photo of late pediatrician Dr. William Jenkins Jr. with his staff. Dr. Jenkins served around 1 million patients in his lifetime and was known for his compassion and dedication to children in need.  He passed away Aug. 15 at his home in Piedmont at the age of 83.
