A videotape that prosecutors say is related to the domestic abuse charges against Sheriff Ross Mirkarimi will be admitted into evidence. Mirkarimi's lawyer had filed a motion asking to exclude the tape on Wednesday, which shows the Sheriff's wife, Illiana Lopez, displaying a bruise on her arm and describing the incident.
"We've been saying all along that this is admissible evidence, and evidence that is critical to the case," said San Francisco District Attorney George Gascón at a separate press conference.
Judge Garrett Wong also said he wants to meet with another possible witness, Christina Flores, who alleges she was abused by Mirkarimi four years ago, before deciding if she can testify.
