A.M. Splash: Oakland Port Operations Resume; Support for Guv's Tax Plan; Bay Bridge Bike Path

It was business as usual this morning at the Port of Oakland, with trucks moving through terminal entrances that had been blocked by thousands of Occupy protesters the night before. Late Monday and early this morning, protesters had blocked two APL terminals, preventing workers from entering. By 4 a.m., they had dispersed, allowing the nation's 5th largest port to reopen.

A scenic coastal landscape between San Francisco and Half Moon Bay -- home to mountain lions, peregrine falcons and stunning mountaintop views of San Francisco Bay and the Pacific Ocean -- has become the newest addition to America's national park system. The National Park Service announced Monday that ownership of the 3,858-acre Rancho Corral de Tierra has officially transferred to the federal government, 10 years after a nonprofit Silicon Valley land trust purchased the property for $29 million, ending developers' plans for luxury homes and a golf course.
