Last night the conservative news commentator Stephen Colbert erupted in outrage on his show over California's recently passed LGBT history bill. Amidst the vitriol, he takes a little time to educate us through his own primer on gay history, including the 1970s period, during which "gay made a comeback when Paul Lynde was given the center square. Impressionable children home sick from school watched him, were converted, and boom! Ever since then, it's been gay gay gay gay gay." (There may have been another "gay" in there as well, not sure.)
