The Bay Area News Group announced on Friday it had added Oakland public employee salaries to its database of hundreds of cities, schools, and special districts throughout the Bay Area for the year 2010.

For the past several years, the newspaper group has been putting together the database from public records.

The numbers cover base salaries, bonuses, and other payments. The top earners in terms of total compensation for 2010 were all police and fire employees.
