Bosses and project managers, meet your new enemy: the California Academy of Sciences‘ Pocket Penguins, a smart phone application that lets you view the Academy’s African penguin exhibit 24 hours a day.

The app was released earlier this week and allows one to “watch the birds swim, dive, flirt, nest and relax from any one of three live webcams.”

Flirt and nest? I’m captivated simply watching these cute little guys (and gals) walk.

According to the app description, the penguins are especially animated at meal time, around 10:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. A spokesperson for the Academy said that the app has been downloaded more than 1,700 times since it launched 48 hours ago.

Pocket Penguins is available for iPhone and Android systems for free, though a donation of $5.00 is encouraged.
