Vallejo Man Detained for Disrupting San Francisco-Bound Flight

KQED's Joshua Johnson reported this morning that a Vallejo man is in San Mateo County jail and under federal investigation after allegedly disturbing a Chicago to San Francisco flight, at one point banging on the cockpit door.

Twenty-eight-year-old Rageit Almurisi was charged with interfering with a flight crew on American Airlines Flight 1561. Authorities say Almurisi was yelling in the cabin before he approached the flight deck, at which point he was wrestled to the ground by crew and passengers. Almurisi was carrying a Yemeni passport, although it's unclear if he is from Yemen. His motive is also unclear, and investigators have not said if the man has any ties to terrorism.
