Update 4 p.m. On YouTube, here’s a guy who headed for the basement when he heard the tornado warning, only to report an hour later that maybe he overreacted.

I don’t know, did he?

1:30 p.m. Strange weather. Funnel cloud at Ocean Beach, at least according to this YouTube user:

1 p.m. The warning has been canceled.

The National Weather Service has issued a tornado alert for San Mateo County. The alert lasts until 11:30 a.m. A funnel cloud has hit Santa Rosa, the Press Democrat reports.

Instructions:IF YOU ARE CAUGHT OUTSIDE…SEEK SHELTER IN A NEARBY REINFORCED BUILDING. AS A LAST RESORT…SEEK SHELTER IN A CULVERT…DITCH OR LOW SPOT AND COVER YOUR HEAD WITH YOUR HANDS.
