Last Month's Video: Brian Wilson, Dressed as Popeye, Talks Crazy on George Lopez

Yesterday, in reporting on Giant Brian Wilson’s new web site, I wondered what exactly was going on in this video, featuring a graybearded Wilson dressed up like, uh, I guess, Popeye, and which I thought maybe was a reenactment of some nautically minded Dodger fan’s half-remembered nightmare.

Today, reader Ken Peterson explains:

“He’s in the green room, getting ready for his appearance on the George Lopez Show — an appearance that was definitely a piece of performance art!”

That was on Jan 28. How I went a whole month in the dark about this, I don’t know, but I am duly chastened.

I don’t know if Wilson had his own writer, but his timing as a comedian is almost as good as his fastball.
