With Toy Story 3's Best Animated Feature win at the Academy Awards on Sunday, films by Pixar Studios have now emerged victorious in 5 of 11 years, including the last four, since the category was inaugurated in 2001.

Toy Story 3 was also the top-grossing film of the year, capping a long string of Pixar box-office successes.

So...how do they do it over there, in little ole unassuming Emeryville, just over the Bay Bridge, not too far from the IKEA?

Melena Ryzik of The New York Times' Carpetbagger blog visited Pixar last month and delved into what went into the making of the third Toy Story installment, and took a look at the company's culture, in this article and six-minute video.

And in 2008, Randy Nelson, the then-head of Pixar University, the company's training program, spoke about the Pixar corporate culture and what it looks for in a new hire. Job seekers, take a look. (But animated characters take note: You must go through a different employment process.)
