Watch Live: SF Board Scheduled to Weigh in on Next Mayor

a hearing of "persons interested in or objecting to proposed Resolution establishing a property-based business improvement district to be known as the 'Civic Center Community Benefit District...'"

...the San Francisco Board of Supervisors will discuss just who the hell they want to be the next mayor.

That's because, as you no doubt have read, Gavin Newsom is leaving the tranquility of San Francisco politics to enter into the rough-and- tumble world of Lieutenant Goverdom. Only he's not leaving quite yet, hanging around another few days in order to delay a vote on his successor until the new board -- presumably more to his liking -- is seated.

So keeping in mind that any choice the supes come up with today is not binding on the incoming board, which will be seated this weekend, you still may want to break out the sourdough and Anchor Steam and watch the proceedings live online.

It'll be your last chance to see Sophie Maxwell, Bevan Dufty, Michela Alioto-Pier, and of course Chris Daly -- who some have called a "political firebrand," and others have called, uh...other things -- in action. The four are being termed out of office.
