Let the San Francisco mayoral-succesionologists interpret this one. From a press release sent out by Gavin Newsom's office:

Lieutenant Governor-elect Gavin Newsom today announced plans for an inaugural celebration to be held in the State Capitol Rotunda on Monday, January 10, 2011 at 1 p.m.

Immediately following the celebration, the Lt. Governor will host an open house at his State Capitol office, where Californians are invited to meet him and his family.

Additional details regarding the inaugural celebration are forthcoming.

Note: This event is the official inaugural celebration. Lt. Governor-elect Newsom will be formally sworn into office on or before this date.
