Caltrans says it won’t finish up repairing a cracked beam on the San Mateo Bridge until later today, slowing down traffic again. From the Merc:

(Caltrans spokesman) Haus said traffic had been worse than usual on the span Thursday, though the bigger problems have been on the nearby Bay and Dumbarton bridges, which Caltrans is advising drivers to use until the lane is reopened.

The lane closure, though, didn’t cause any disastrous traffic jams around the Bay Area, said Officer Eric Anderson of the California Highway Patrol Transportation Management Center.
