- Oakland Local says the city council will consider doubling the number of marijuana dispensaries within the city from four to eight. The recommendation by councilmembers Larry Reid and Rebecca Kaplan would also increase annual permit fees from $30,000 to $60,000 and institute a $5,000 application fee.
