To be honest, "inaugural address" seems a little grandiose. Mayor Edwin M. Lee's first talk to the city he's leading was serious and self-effacing but also down to earth. He thanked those who have promoted him for the mayor's job and entrusted him with the responsibility; he talked about his past, what he believes in, and all those for whom he's fought; and he promised to be a mayor of all the people of the city.

Here's an almost complete version of the speech—we missed the opening sentence in which he thanked the Board of Supervisors for "this fantastic opportunity." But it picks up from there:
