Oakland City Council Captain President Rebecca Kaplan's plan to use a cruise ship to house homeless people was called "untenable" by Port of Oakland officials.

While I love the idea of instantly housing 1,000 homeless people, it seems like the cruise ship idea might cause more problems than it solves.

There must be a better way to deal with homelessness in Oakland than by housing people in a floating facility known for swim-up bars and casinos.
