A Livermore couple was awarded more than $2 billion in damages by a jury in Oakland after they claimed Monsanto's Roundup weedkiller caused their non-Hodgkin lymphoma.
Bayer — which bought Monsanto last year for $63 billion — said in a statement it was "disappointed with the jury's decision."
This is just the latest in a handful of high-dollar damage awards for people with cancer that juries have connected to Roundup.
Thousands of other Roundup lawsuits are on the way.
