California State Bills and Security Clearance Controversy
In Sacramento, state lawmakers and Gov. Jerry Brown have just two weeks to decide the fate of a thousand bills before the end of the legislative session. On Thursday, a bill that would end the practice of cash bail in California cleared a key committee, but its passage remains uncertain. Also this week, President Trump revoked the security clearance of former CIA director John Brennan, a frequent critic of the president. A group of former security officials yesterday signed a letter attacking the decision, saying it was done to stifle free speech.

The film is the first major studio film released in 25 years to feature and all-Asian cast, sparking debates over race and representation in Hollywood.
