The company involved in a pesticide drift incident that sickened 17 farmworkers last year will pay at most $5,000.
"I began crying because I couldn't breathe and my vision was blurred," said one unidentified worker who was sickened.
An attempt to increase fines for companies responsible for incidents like this one failed in the Legislature in January.
