First came the bikes, now the scooters. (No, not this Scooter.)

Have you noticed a proliferation of rental electric scooters in your neighborhood?

Officials in San Francisco are considering ways to rein in rouge scooters that are being distributed around the city by a Southern California company and two Bay Area dockless bike startups.

City crews impounded 66 of the mini-vehicles on Friday morning.

The companies placed the scooters throughout San Francisco without permits. Reports of people riding them dangerously or leaving them on sidewalks are proliferating.
