Players for the Oakland Raiders and other NFL teams across the country staged protests Sunday in defiance of President Donald Trump, who lashed out Friday against athletes who kneel during the national anthem. The president’s comments were an obvious swipe at former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick, who refused to stand during the song last year to protest police treatment of minorities. Meanwhile, Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry says that it was “surreal” to find himself the target of a Twitter attack by President Trump on Saturday. Curry had expressed reservations about the team visiting the White House, prompting the president to say he was rescinding the invitation.
