Bicycle advocates in San Francisco expressed outrage about last week’s hit-and-run fatalities at a City Hall meeting on Thursday, demanding the city do more to make streets safer. Two women were killed on the same night in separate incidents last week when their bicycles were hit by cars. Mayor Ed Lee said the deaths were a result of “illegal, irresponsible, outrageous” behavior. We’ll check in with the bicycling community and city officials about bicycle and pedestrian safety.

Ed Reiskin , director of transportation, San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency

Margaret McCarthy, interim executive director, San Francisco Bicycle Coalition
