On Wednesday, a small group of San Francisco State University students ended their 9-day hunger strike after the
school president agreed to increase funding for the ethnic studies department. The strike was reminiscent of a callto-
action in 1968, when SF State students clashed with police and led a five-month strike to bring ethnic studies to
campus. That historic strike is documented in the new film “Agents of Change.” We speak with one of filmmakers
and an activist from that original movement.
