Palo Alto-based Tesla Motors says it has received more than 325,000 reservations for its new Model 3 sedan even though the electric car is not set to be released until late next year. Other automakers, like Chevrolet, have also announced plans to roll out more affordable, longer-range electric cars soon. But industry growth has stalled recently due to low gas prices.
