At least two dozen migrant children faced abuse and neglect after being placed in American homes, according to an investigation by the Associated Press. The abuse occurred after the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services scaled back vetting procedures in response to a record number of unaccompanied minors crossing the United States-Mexico border.
