Photographer Anthony Friedkin joins us to talk about his images of drag queens, hustlers and gay and lesbian couples taken during the early days of the gay rights movement in the late 1960s and early ’70s. Those photos are included in “The Gay Essay,” a new exhibition of Friedkin’s work at San Francisco’s De Young Museum.
