The unrest in Ukraine reached a boiling point earlier this week when pro-Russian demonstrators took over administrative buildings in several cities and announced plans for secession. Ukrainian officials, seeking a quick resolution, have threatened the use of force. U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry blames the Russian government for the increase in upheavals, with reports of a buildup of 40,000 Russian troops along the Ukrainian border. Talks between Ukraine, Russia, the U.S. and the European Union are scheduled for next week.
