Gov. Brown Proposes Biggest Budget Ever

Governor Jerry Brown’s new $155 billion budget proposal includes more than $8 billion in new spending, thanks to a budget surplus from an improving economy. Brown proposes to spend more on schools, to pay back a lot of debt and to invest in a rainy-day fund to help safeguard against future economic downturns. We discuss the budget plan and how lawmakers are reacting. The Legislature will need to approve a budget by mid-June.
