The past several weeks have been particularly violent in Syria, Iraq, Lebanon and other Middle Eastern hotspots. Some argue this will be the new normal in an area transformed by citizen uprisings and a decreased U.S. presence. We’ll look at the shifting balance of power in the Middle East and examine how the rivalry between Saudi Arabia and Iran is playing out around the region. As the bloodshed continues, should the U.S. be playing a more active role?
