If you’ve been dismayed by the murky haze hanging over the Bay Area for much of December, you’re not alone. Regulators have declared a record number of Spare the Air Days, where burning any solid fuel inside or outside you home is banned. In this hour, we’ll talk about Bay Area air quality, the weather patterns exacerbating the problem, as well as the worrying lack of water. Our panel of experts will provide advice on what you can do to preserve air and water resources.

Guests:

Lisa Fasano, director of communications and outreach at the Bay Area Air Quality Management District

Eric Stevenson, director of technical services at the Bay Area Air Quality Management District

Jeanine Jones, interstate resources manager at the California Department of Water Resources

John Monteverdi, professor of meteorology at San Francisco State University

Sridhar Prasad, physician in the department of pulmonology, Kaiser Permanente
