    Before you discuss minimum wage you need to establish a minimum acceptable quality of life and then find out what that costs. Can you ask your guests what yearly income they think that they could live on? How does that match the minimum wage that they are proposing? It seems that these discussions are always biased towards the exploiters, who gain benefit from the support other people give to the low paid.
