As the 34th governor of California in 1975, Jerry Brown was known for his frugality, as symbolized by his old Plymouth Satellite. On Monday, Brown was inaugurated as the state’s 39th governor, and he revived those themes of austerity and sacrifice in a simple ceremony, followed by hot dogs and chips for the crowd. Our panel previews the next administration. What do you think Governor Brown’s top priorities should be?

Guests:

John Myers, KQED's Sacramento bureau chief

Barbara O'Connor, professor emeritus of communications at the Institute for the Study of Politics and Media at California State University, Sacramento

Jim Brulte, former California State Senate Republican leader

Darry Sragow, interim director of the LA Times/USC poll and a veteran Democratic political strategist
