San Francisco’s Board of Supervisors votes today on whether to continue to study a controversial congestion pricing proposal for San Francisco. Proponents say it’s necessary to deal with increased traffic, but opponents say it’s unfair to commuters and will drive business out of the city.
Under congestion pricing, drivers entering downtown and surrounding areas during peak hours would be charged a toll. The money gathered would go to strengthening public transportation.
